Written In Ink

Here's my one-sentence summation of what you're about to read: I rush into everything I do.
Back when I first started this blog in 2018, I thought I'd never run out of thoughts to share with the world. Or another way to say that is that I thought every thought I had should be shared with the world.
You remember that scene in The Social Network where Erica Albright tells off Mark Zuckerberg in that restaurant and she says the best line of the whole movie to him which is "Good luck with your video game"? Near the beginning of that scene, she says something else to Mark that I think about sometimes: " As if every thought that tumbles through your head was so clever it would be a crime for it not to be shared. The Internet's not written in pencil, Mark, it's written in ink."
When I went on the internet and said I was going to post once a week, I was trying to motivate myself to write without thinking about what happens those weeks where I don't have much or anything to say. I'd so much rather use my space of the internet to speak only when I actually have something I feel is worth saying. And I want to write well and purposeful, and sometimes that means writing slow.
Will I post something every single week now? Probably not. Do I feel a little bit like a failure because I'm going back on my commitment to post every week? Big time. But will what I publish now be something I've thought about, edited several times, thought about some more, and be something I am proud of? You bet your cute butt that the answer is yes.
